We start with engineered woods and hardwood products. All frames are glued, dowelled, blocked and stapled for stability and strength.
SINUOUS SPRING SYSTEM
The MAX Sinuous Spring System is a 7.5 gauge heat tempered rod, the heaviest gauge spring used in the furniture industry. All MAX home sofas have a minimum of 15 springs in the sinuous foundation, tied down on the arm side to prevent rolling.
LUXURY DOWN & FEATHER BLEND CUSHIONING
MAX Home down and feather seat cushions are composed of a high density foam core inserted into a baffled casing of 50% polyester hollow fill, 45% feathers, 5% down. MAX Home down and feather back cushions and accent pillows are composed of 50% polyester hollow fill, 45% feathers and 5% down in a channeled casing. The casings are made of heavy down proof ticking, and are channeled to prevent feather migration.
PREMIUM FOAM CUSHIONING
Standard series seat cushions have a high density foam core. The thickness of the foam core is appropriate to the frames design. We book wrap the core with a 2" thick piece of virgin Dacron fiber, then encase the cushion before inserting into the fabric casing. Standard series back cushions and accent pillows are virgin hollow denier slickened polyester conjugate fiber. Extruded through a helix, it resembles a cylindrical spring. The fibers are resistant to matting and clumping.
TAILORING AND SEWING
All MAX Home products feature generous padding on inside and outside arms, backs and rails. Attention to fine tailoring details are trademarks of all of our products.
SOFABEDS
MAX Home sofabeds are designed with the thought that a sofabed is primarily used for sitting. They feature the additional utility that they can be converted to a sleeper. We designed the mechanism to be installed lower, and with our premium cushioning achieve comfort similar to that of premium stationary upholstery. The mechanism is constructed with steel tubing and heavy gauge spring supports. It features an adjustable TV headrest. The mattress is an innerspring construction covered in a custom quilted damask ticking.
